Historical Context:
"My intent is to incorporate the aesthetics of traditional printmaking into contemporary digital print media. The photographic elements of this print were enhanced to appear more linear and congruent in juxtaposition.Inspiration for the print came from the writings of Franz Kafka and in particular his statement, “We take photographs to get things out of our heads.” The narrative for the montage emerges from its 1930s urban street scene which is perhaps a stage set where dreams and stark reality appear to intersect." - Richard Aardsma
