Historical Context:
This painting depicts a site to the north-west of Papunya, near central Mt. Wedge, called Kurrinyarra. Kurrinyarra is an important water dreaming area and this painting reflects on the effects of a big storm that has since passed. The rainbow remains which signifies rejuvenation of the land.
