Aboriginal Art Collection ➔ Possum Dreaming

Artwork
Medium:
Acrylic on Canvas
Dimensions:
Artworks - Height: 36 in Width: 48 in
Historical Context:
The concentric circles in this painting represent important sites associated to the possum men ancestors who made the journey through Australia in the dreamtime. The area is to the north-west of the Sandy Blight Junction in Western Australia. The lines and "e" shapes are the tracks of the possum men. The meandering background dots represent the designs men performing the 'corroboree,' an Australian Aboriginal dance ceremony, would paint on their bodies.
