Description:
A wooden raft floating down a river with several people along with their belongings. A metal boat is tied to the back.
Historical Context:
"A rural family floats their belongings into a city. They may have traveled several days on the river. The majority of people in the Amazon already live in towns or cities. The Amazon population has been mostly urban for the last two decades and continues to become more urbanized. Most people from rural areas all over Amazonia aspire to leave their villages, and one day live in a town or city - or at least parents want to see their children do so." - Jim Penn
