Historical Context:
"As a child, I spent a lot of time outdoors enjoying nature. I lived on a lake and family vacations were spent camping, fishing, and viewing wildlife in its natural environment. This tradition is something I have continued to do. Every plant, animal, or mineral is a vital part of the eco-system. If changes are not made in how humans interact with and for nature, then it will be lost to future generations. My work is about visual perception of nature. These up close images invite you to mov in for a closer look. By doing so, I hope to foster an interest, by drawing you in. If I have drawn you in, then I may have created the opportunity to transpose your visual perception as you observe nature in the future." -Doralynn Runyon "As well seen photograph is, as it has always been, the most powerful communication tool available." -Susan Carr
