Buddha Seated on Lotus Throne

Artworks - Height: 25 in Width: 17 in Depth: 12 in
Note: Total height of sculpture and base combined
Bronze Buddha seated in dhyanasana with hands in bhumisparsa and dhyana mudras.
Historical Context:
This Buddha figure sits on a lotus throne, in a dhyanasana position with legs crossed. One hand is poised in the bhumisparsha mudra, in which the arm hangs down over the knee, symbolizing a calling to witness of the earth goddess and the transition from Bodhisattva to Buddha. The other hand is poised in dhyana mudra, a gesture of meditation.
