Historical Context:
20th century artist, Winold Reiss is well known for his portraiture, interiors, and graphic design. He produced a series of portraits commissioned by the Great Northern Railway, representing Blackfeet Indians and Blood Indians of the northwestern United States and Canada. Several of these portraits illustrated promotional calendars published by the Great Northern Railway.
