Historical Context:
"Human beings are constantly surrounded and immersed in the interaction with nature. We are aware of the influence it has on us through the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat. Mankind has to depend on nature for medicine, shelter, clothing, and other necessities to be able to survive. Our environment, although outside us, had within us not only its image, as something both actually and imaginatively reflected, but also its energy and resources. When these natural principles disappear, man himself disappears. If we lose nature's image, we lose our own existence. Our natural connection with the world around us is a dependent bond that is as pure as blood. Human is nature." -Jessica Uccello
