Historical Context:
"My work is sculptural/representational, feathered wildlife from natural gemstones, using techniques created by Peter Karl Faberge and further developed by artisans in Idar-Oberstein, W. Germany. I utilize lapidary diamond wet blades to cut and shape the parts, then inlay the different types of stones with specifically developed epoxy adhesives. The detail work is done with dental diamond hand tools which provide delicacy and precision. Using the genuine colors of the gemstones and the entirely freehand nature of the process, every piece becomes an original in its own right." - A. Cesar Nogueira
