Historical Context:
"In this work, the application of Dr. Hermann Rorschach's ink-blot method exists as sculptural entities, transformed from their flat, two-dimensional sources into three-dimensional objects in space. The piece focuses on the presentation of variation and ambiguity in relation to what is deemed positive versus negative, right versus wrong, or former versus latter. In creating multiple variations from the same shape the two mirrored sculptures cause the establishment of a perceived originator, or rather one being considered primary over its opposite. Our minds seek to do this automatically so as to better understand its environment and reason with its surroundings." -Richelle Nuney
