Image of a procession of people and elephants. Background is a country landscape with walled cities in the distance. Four sitting figures are pictured along the top. Image is surrounded by a floral border.
Historical Context:
Artist Shyamu Ramdev, whose family has been working at Bhawani Singh's royal palace for three generations, says, "We hit upon this idea some time back and it has now become very popular. We basically source pre-Independence era postcards and property deeds from junk dealers and paint around the text. This gives them the appeal of an artwork".
