Description:
Simple landscape painting of green field, houses and silhouettes of trees along horizon line. Dark, cloudy sky.
Historical Context:
While known today more for his geometric works on enamel panels, Corten steel sculptures, and silk screen prints, Cyril Lixenberg began his career as a painter. In 1953, Lixenberg travels through The Netherlands and Europe, and in 1956, he briefly studies at the École des Beaux Arts in Paris. This landscape painting is representational of this earlier work.
