Description:
Over lapping horses in the middle. The figures on the horses wear pointed hats and carry spears and shields.
Historical Context:
The Bayeux Tapestry is 1.6 by 224.3 ft long and is actually an embroidered cloth. The embroidery depicts the events leading up to the Norman conquest of England as well as the events of the invasion itself. The tapestry is annotated in Latin.
