The Elizabeth Murray Garden was dedicated in a ceremony outside of the Murray Living Center on September 6. Elizabeth, wife of former Grand Valley President Mark A. Murray, served as first lady during their five years at the university from 2001-2006. Elizabeth Murray noted that gardens are often seen as an inspiration for the future. “I hope this will be a special place for students, for everybody. A learning environment for pleasure and beauty. I have a favorite flower that is special to me — the delphinium. I’m happy to know there are some in this garden,”- Elizabeth Murray
