Description:
An image of a splotched yellow and brown fall leaf floating on the surface of still water. Beneath the water there is another yellow leaf visible.
Historical Context:
"To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place. I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them". - Elliot Erwitt. Grand Rapids, like most cities, can be divided into many distinctive self contained communities like Heritage Hill, Eastown, and West Grand, each spanning a couple dozen blocks. Division Street is a quirky exception, a tiny pocket of culture within the Heartside community. With these six images I hope to show you how I see this unique little street, and the people that live there.
