Historical Context:
As a painter and print maker, Andy Warhol was a leader in the visual art movement known as Pop Art. His images often reflect popular culture such as celebrities, advertisements or everyday household objects. Some of his most famous works include colorful images of Marilyn Monroe, the Campbell's Tomato Soup can, and a ripening banana.
