Woven tunic done in blue with small black and gold stripes. The collar of the piece is trimmed white and extends down to form a white cross.
Historical Context:
Even though many Ghana men today dress in similar fashion to contemporary European or American fashion style, the traditional dress is a tunic with loose fitting drawstring pants. Most of their clothes are hand-dyed, hand-woven and hand-sewn by professional seamstresses. This tunic was presented to President Haas during a 2010 university visit to Ghana.
