Don was my lithography professor in undergraduate school at Ohio University. I was a Photography major at O.U. which required me to take studio art classes. I really couldn’t draw very well, but lithography happened to be the only class I could sign up for that wouldn’t mess up the rest of my schedule. As it turned out I really liked litho and ended up changing my major to Printmaking. It was because of Don I met Jack Lemon of Landfall Press. Don arranged with the University for me to spend spring quarter at Landfall Press and receive 15 credit hours. It was a wonderful experience that led to my future employment at Landfall Press. When Rudy and I started Echo press I invited Don to come so we could work together again. Island Sky Ship is the result of that collaboration.
