Mario Moorse is a Detroit, Michigan native, having received his BFA from the College for Creative Studies. He later earned his MFA in painting from the Yale School of Art in New Haven, Connecticut.

Moore's works include many historical references, drawing from social, economic, and racial occurrences from both the past and present. His large-scale paintings tell the story of his life, including many different realistic figures of his friends and family.
