Artist Biography:
Founded a company that sold printed works. Started to sell greeting cards in 1866, eventually sold post cards as well. One of the most profitable business of the "postcard boom" in the late 1800s -early 1900s. In 1900 Raphael Tuck died, but his brother Adolph continued the business. The company was bombed during the Blitz which destroyed many of their original works. Reginald Tuck died in 1954 leaving the business to Desmond Tuck who retired in 1954. The company was later absorbed by the British Printing and Communications Corporation.
