Rev. Jonathan Fisher became the first settled Congregational minister in the small village of Blue Hill, Maine in 1796. Although his primary duties as a country parson engaged much of his time, Fisher was also considered a renaissance man. He was an artist, farmer, scientist, mathematician, surveyor, and writer of prose and poetry. He is seen today as one of New England’s most remarkable citizens.
