The landscape, architecture and atmosphere and colours of Bermuda are an enduring inspiration for Diana’s paintings. She paints en plein air in both watercolour and oils and enjoys painting sessions and camaraderie with the Bermuda Plein Air Group. She also paints on her travels to other countries each year.
Bermuda born Diana studied in London at St. Martin’s School of Art (NDD Painting Special) and Hornsey College of Art (ATD). Her Master of Fine Arts Degree, cum laude, is from the Instituto Allende in Guanajuato, Mexico.
She has had numerous solo shows in Bermuda, and her paintings are in private and corporate collections in many parts of the world. She is a Grumbacher Award winner, and in 1999, the Bermuda Arts Council honoured Diana with a Lifetime Achievement Award. She is represented by the Windjammer Three Gallery in Hamilton.
Diana headed the Art Department at Bermuda College for many years until devoting her time to painting full time.
Every year, she and her daughter, Stacey Amos Holden, create the much loved Bermuda Colours Watercolour Recipe Calendar, which is distributed worldwide. She has a wide selection of lithograph prints reproduced from her watercolours and accepts commissions.
