Stanley Krohmer is a member of the Liberal Arts faculty at Grand Valley State University who also works as a freelance photographer. His personal areas of research include diversity in the United States, Irish Studies, contemporary literature, and social issues. Of this set of work he writes: "The same trees appear differently during the fall and winter seasons. In this sylvan suite of poems and silver prints, the photographer and the poet will each capture images of trees that assume metaphoric significance relating to human life and the resilience of the human spirit at times of crisis."
