"My intention with the book, Grand Rapids: Capturing a Journey Through Time, is to show how time changes so many things and leaves others nearly untouched. The project shows where we have been, how the city has grown and changed, and begs the question of what and how things will change in years to come. I like the idea of being able to place the historical image next to the present day image to compare and discover what has changed and what has remained the same. It is important to learn about the places we have been as a society and as a culture, to look at the triumphs and mistakes to learn from them.
