Artist Biography:
A.Y. Jackson was one of the first major Canadian painters. In 1905 he started taking courses at the Monument-National, Art Institute of Chicago. Two years later, he saved up enough money to travel to Paris and attend the prestigious Académie Julian. A.Y. Jackson choose to return to Canada after his formal art training was completed. He created Neo-Impressionist artwork and was an avid outdoors-man.
