Andy Goldsworthy is a British sculptor and photographer living in Scotland. He produces site-specific sculpture and land art in both natural and urban settings. His materials of choice consist of bright colored leaves, flowers, mud, pine cones, snow, stone, tree trunks, sticks, and thorns. The ephemeral quality of these materials cause the works themselves to be temporary and typically can only be viewed through photographic documentation. Despite the short duration of his work, Goldsworthy has been asked to display his work internationally. One of his few permanent installations is on display at Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park, a stone piece titled "Grand Rapids Arch."
