Arthur Geisert is an author and illustrator of children's books. He begins his stories by making drawings and freely forming relationships between the images. This process then produces a narrative in which the original drawings constitute the book illustrations. Every illustration is an etching that is produced by Geisert himself, a process that can take months. His devotion to the etching process has gained him attention throughout his career and his work has appeared in The New Yorker, earning him the New York Times Best Illustrated Book award.
