Artist Biography:
Conversational abstractions for the photographer, the subject matter that resides within the confines of the image acts as a conversationalist. Up until the moment the shutter is released, the photographer undergoes a conversation with the subject. Evidence that this event has occurred appears in the form of a photograph. The subject matter in my photographs provides the viewer with the basic informative elements of line, shape, form, space, among others. By creating these abstractions, I reveal not what the object looks like, but what it's like to look at the object in my perspective. The objects may have no relation to one another outside of the image of space, but within it, they immerse themselves in continuous conversation. My photographs represent a part of myself that desires to order the appearance of the world so that others may understand the relationships and conversations between object and image.
