From 1952 to 1955 he studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. Then continued studying at the Free Academy of Art in The Hague. He works mainly in the genres of figure shows, sports and game scenes and architecture. As a painter and sculptor, his work frequently depicts the magic of Realism; often having inspiration from classical mythology. And in 1957 Verhog won the Jacob Maris Prize for painting.
