" These photographs were taken in the summer of 2007 in Rome, Italy. Going abroad, I expected to encounter a culture and practices that are different then my own. Rome has such a lively, vibrant nightlife. The city is a blur of activity into the early hours of the morning. Coming from Michigan, where most everything shuts down at 9 p.m., I found it very interesting to see vendors beginning to set up their merchandise at 7 p.m.
My work was developed to convey through movement and color what anyone walking in the streets of Rome at night would experience. It is easy to be swept into the fervor and flow of activity. To fully appreciate the energy of Rome, sometimes it is necessary to stop and let the world flow around you. "
