A Characteristic of Klaas Gubbels is his aversion to aesthetics. He avoids anything 'nice'. Beauty for him is false and keep away from the truth. On the other hand, his angular colors are a whole value system that has built up his own aesthetic language. He uses the topic as a means; it is no longer a table or coffeepot, but poetry, humor, aggression or dullness.
Tables, coffee machines, chairs, and pipes are the main motivation of the sculptures, paintings and graphics of Klaas Gubbels. Within the limits of the chosen themes he constantly discovers new inspiration. Work of Klaas Gubbels is included in the collection of Gemeentemuseum Arnhem, Stedelijk Museum Schiedam, Museum Van Bommel van Dam, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam etc.
