Kim Hong-do was a Korean painter during Late Choson dynasty known for being one of the first artists to portray every-day life in Korea. His paintings focus on people and their activities, while backgrounds are scarcely illustrated. Because of this, his paintings are valued for their insight into every-day life in Korea as well as for their beauty.
