These are the remains of places that were once filled with life and energy. They were places of commerce that now stand as monuments of brokenness. Their vivid colors act as a last chance for survival, seeking the attention of the passer by. Are these buildings the result of an over retailed country? Have they fallen victim to corporate chains? Are these buildings a representation of a way of life that is slowly dying? These are the concerns of many businesses that try to make it on their own. We like to think of America of a place where the hardworking individual can succeed. Is this still true today?
