My work begins with a deeply rooted curiosity for raw materials and continues with exploration of physical properties of these materials; usually wood, ceramic, or steel; while creating functional objects and pursuing minimal aesthetics. The creation of tools aids and streamlines my process and provides a necessary inventive outlet. I challenge the materials just as they challenge me. My work is the result of this struggle between a given media and myself.
