"For me the creation of art is a spiritual discipline, a form of visual prayer. It is the action of following a path through process, dialogue, and transformation toward the development of aesthetic sensibility and greater emotional and psychological maturity. It is action that nourishes and cultivates, that transforms the mind, character, and soul. Engaged in the creative process, my goal is to come to know the inner weight of a stone, the velocity of a brushstroke, the depth of a color, the truth and beauty of manifesting the inner world of the imagination. Through these experiences, the simple things of the world reveal their secret dimension, their spiritual nature.
