Ken Christensen is an on-site landscape painter who was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1951. Influenced by French Impressionists, Post-Impressionists and the Fauves, he has experimented with mediums and techniques like monoprints and blockprints in his work. He attended Michigan State University, receiving his B.A. in History in 1974, after which he spent about 9 years in Europe sketching, biking, and teaching himself French. After his European travels, Christensen returned to Michigan where he taught watercolor and print making at North Central Michigan University.
