Historical Context:
Robert Patricio is from Acoma Pueblo (signs R. Patricio) and frequently collaborates on the pottery with his wife, Melody (signed R&M Patricio). He is considered a rising star in the world of pueblo pottery whose work has been decisively ascending over the last few years. Robert was taught the traditional ways of pueblo pottery creation by family members as he worked with them gathering clay dug on the pueblo and harvesting the vegetation which is boiled down to create the colors used on the pottery.
