Description:
Dinosaur sculpture that is a large scale reproduction of the smaller wooden models.
Historical Context:
Gillis's work has been exhibited extensively and is in numerous fine collections accross the U.S. and abroad. The artist is often know for her dramatic paintings on aluminum, especially of the Great Lakes. Her dinosaur sculptures are somewhat tangential to her other work; the artist was drawn to the subject "for the fun of it."
