Mundus Imaginalis: Hoc Loco (In This Place)
Composite Photograph (Site Plan with Locations)
Artworks - Height: 44.0 in
Width: 29.5 in
Description: Several small images against off-white background; little green mechanisms, parts.
Historical Context: "Mundus Imaginalis" curiously incorporates the site of the Devos Center Complex. There are 34 objects (which can be considered artifacts or parts) and individual photographs of each of the 34 corresponding parts. There are also 3 large photographic composites that document the site, the parts, and the configuration. The 34 parts are the complete set of pieces resulting from the division of one whole form. They are within, and under the surface of, the Devos complex and are no longer visible. The image "Hoc Loco" ("In This Place") describes the layering of these two fabrications. The image includes a complete site plan of the complex (north is depicted as up), and small inset images of each part in its approximate location.
