Description:
A swirl of white, black, and grey on canvas.
Historical Context:
We layer memories on top of one another, blurring some details while pulling others into focus, constructing and reconstructing, never quite reaching lucidity. My work aims to translate these physical and psychological experiences into visual ones; to express these invisible moments into ones that can be seen and documented. By using a variety of opaque and translucent materials, I am able to alter materials in a way that pushes and pulls the figure in and out of focus, allowing the eye to wander, finding areas of brief focus, before pulled back into the fog.
